• Fostering awareness about The Children’s Hospital among young professionals;
• Protecting the health of Denver's children by contributing to the long-term financial health of The Children's Hospital;
• Identifying young professionals to assist the volunteers of The Children’s Hospital Foundation and The Children’s Hospital;
• Fostering awareness about the importance of philanthropy among young professionals; and
• Supporting the advocacy efforts of The Children’s Hospital.

The mission may be accomplished through at least the following actions:

• Organizing, hosting, and publicizing events in cooperation with The Children's Hospital Foundation;
• Serving as a volunteer base for The Children's Hospital Foundation and The Children’s Hospital;
• Participating in The Children’s Hospital’s Advocacy Programs; and
• Participating in, planning, or supporting other events or issues as may be identified by The Young Fund or The Children's Hospital Foundation.

The Young Fund’s Structure

The Young Fund is made up of many individuals who wish to contribute at different levels and has four tiers of involvement:

• an executive committee,
• a board of directors,
• members,
• and friends.

Executive Committee The executive committee of The Young Fund provides a liaison to The Children’s Hospital Foundation, and also provides leadership to The Young Fund’s board of directors. Executive committee officers are elected for two year terms. Elections for the current executive committee were held in April of 2007. Board of Directors The board of directors of The Young Fund provides leadership to The Young Fund’s membership and volunteers. The board of directors approves events, coordinates advocacy and volunteer activities and provides general guidance to The Young Fund’s membership and volunteers. Leadership and volunteer opportunities begin with those individuals who support The Young Fund.  These individuals serve the patients and families of The Children’s Hospital by organizing Young Fund events, participating in The Young Fund's advocacy efforts, and volunteering with events sponsored by The Children's Hospital Foundation.
